Riverview High School Foundation
Jeanne Abel

Hello Riverview High School Family,

On behalf of the entire Riverview High School Foundation I would like to welcome you to the 2017-2018 school year. I am sure it will be another outstanding year. The Foundation is proud to be part of such a wonderful place.
If you are not sure who the Foundation is or what we do, our mission is quite simple:

To provide financial support to students, staff, and the school when there is no other funding source.

Two of our major Initiatives are REACH (Riverview's Efforts to assist Children at Home) and RAMP (Riverview Academic Mentor Program). With REACH, we provide a Food Pantry and Clothes Closet on campus. In addition, we assist with funds for SAT classes and testing, college application fees, bus passes, yearbook photos, prom tickets, and any other needs our students may have. RAMP provides Math Tutoring free of charge on Tuesday and Thursday after school.
Over the past 17 years, we have provided $412,000 in grants and scholarships to RHS Students and Teachers.

  • $120,000 Classroom Grants
  • $140,000 Teacher Travel Grants
  • $73,000 Student Scholarships

The Foundation has also provided over $700,000 towards capital expenses. Here is just a sample:

  • $45,000 to buy books for the library in 2005
  • $405,000 of RHSF funds for the Planetarium in 2010
  • $23,000 to purchase a boat and build the dock in 2012
  • $30,000 to purchase the AquaDome in 2012
  • $30,000 to buy TI Inspire calculators for all math classes in 2014
  • $200,000 to renovate the weight room, including all new equipment for use by all sports teams at RHS in 2016

As we begin the new school year, the Foundation as several new Capital Projects that we are working on with Dr Burns and his Staff. These include:

  • The Academic Interventions Project
  • Stars to Starfish AquaDome Project
  • Diversity and Restorative Justice Program
