Dear RHS Friends, Staff and Family,
The Riverview High School Foundation welcomes you back. The 2008-09 school year should be exciting as we all watch the new school’s completion right before our eyes.
Science Center (formerly known as the Planetarium)
The RHS Foundation is working diligently to make the new Science Center a reality. We have obtained a commitment for $200,000 already and will continue to search for donors that see the value to the entire community that this project will contribute. More information on this will be available in the coming weeks.
Grants & Scholarships and Their Funding
The RHS Foundation will continue to fund the grants & scholarships as long as we are able to find alumni, teachers & friends (through the community) willing to contribute through their tax-deductible donations. Last year we were able to give back over $20,000 in the form of 11 Classroom Enhancement Grants and $14,000 to assist 7 teachers with their travel expenses allowing them to gain immeasurable life experiences.
The Foundation Gala
The Foundation will be bringing back the “Gala”. This was a popular event that raised a lot of money for Riverview. Our hope is to make it as grand & fun as it always was in the past. This year’s gala is being planned for February (2009). Please be on the lookout for more information and pass it along to your students (and their parents) when you can. We can certainly use volunteers for this event – if you are interested in finding out how you can get involved, contact the Foundation Coordinator, Cyndi Forgeur at: foundationcoordinator@rhsfoundation.org
RHS Alumni Association
The RHS Alumni Association was formed in the Fall of 2006 by the Foundation. Its main objective is to get and then keep alumni connected to RHS. Already there are over 2,000 former classmates and teachers registered.
