Effa Beauette

Effa, a National Board Certified educator, has been teaching 39 years, 34 of those at RHS. She has worked in both instructional and in administrative capacities. She has been instrumental in program development, specifically the International Baccalaureate, the 9th grade transition program, the RHS Small Learning Communities, and the Executive Internship program. Effa has also worked in sales and marketing. Effa states: "First, I still have much to learn, second, every student has the potential to achieve great things!"

Joe Cleary - Treasurer

Joe and his wife Missy are both alumni of RHS (class of 1988 & 1989 respectively).  They are both members of the RHS Foundation.  They have 2 sons, one of which attends RHS (class of 2013).  Joe is a real estate agent with ReMax Alliance Group and volunteers at Southside Elementary "Fathers Being Involved".  He played the trumpet and french horn with the Kilties and was the band lieutenant.  He graduated from Western Carolina University with a BS/BA.

Missy Cleary - 1st Vice President

Missy and her husband Joe are both alumni of RHS (class of 1989 & 1988 respectively).  They have 2 sons, Tyler & Carter.  Tyler is attending RHS (IB), class of 2013.  Missy is a realtor at RE/MAX Alliance Group and is a member of the Kiwanis.

Kristine Del Vecchio

Kristine has lived in the area for since 1990.  She has a BS in Education from the University of Connecticut and a Masters of Accountancy from the University of South Florida.  She is a CPA and CIA and has 20 years experience in both public and corporate accounting.  Kristine was formerly on the Board of the Crisis Center of Tampa Bay and has been teaching as an adjunct instructor of accounting at USF, Manatee Community College (Venice) and Gulf Coast University for many years.

Lucy English

Lucy and her husband, Bill, have 3 children, 2 attended or are currently attending RHS (Robert, class of 2008 and Katherine, class of 2010) and 1 attended Cardinal Mooney and is currently at FSU (Billy). She joined the board in 2006 to help promote Riverview High School in the community. She is a former board member at Incarnation School and been active while her children were at Cardinal Mooney. 

Lucy has served as the Grants Committee chairperson since 2008.  She is also the Riverview Rendezvous chairperson and the Alumni Reunion chairperson.

(Joseph) Simon Hancock

Simon is a RHS graduate, class of 1983, and a former Kiltie Band member playing both the bagpipes and the saxophone.  Simon is a published contributing author for a software design book and several technology periodicals.  He is affiliated with the Van Wezel Foundation, the Ringling Library Association and Sarasota Christian School.  He joined the Foundation to help raise money & awareness for RHS as well as promote communication and knowledge for school & student needs. 

John Kampmann

John joined the Board in 2007.  John's parents were both teachers and he wants to make a positive impact within Sarasota's high schools and community.  He has 2 daughters, Jenna graduated from RHS in 2008 & Molly graduated in 2009 from PineView. 

Jay Lorenz

Jay is the Assistant Athletic Director as well as the Performance Based Diploma Program Director at Riverview High School.  He is a 1998 graduate of RHS and is "totally devoted" to the school.  His wife, Jacky-Lynn, is a 1999 graduate of RHS and they are expecting their first child in December 2009.

Mark Loveridge

Mark joined the Foundation in 2006 and currently serves as Vice President. He is a Land Planner at Williams, Parker, Harrison, Dietz & Getzen. He and his wife Elizabeth have a son, Alex, attendind RHS (class of 2010). Mark has strong community involvement including the Salvation Army and Habitat for Humanity.

Margaret Mobley - Secretary

Margaret and her husband David have 4 children, two of which are attending RHS, Ellie, class of 2012 and Patrick, class of 2013.  Margaret particpates in the Relay for Life (The American Cancer Society) enjoys working with people where her children go to school.  She joined the RHS Foundation in May, 2009.

Linda Nook - 2nd Vice President

Principal of Riverview High School since 2001. Prior to becoming Principal at Riverview, she spent 14 years as both an elementary and middle school principal. She has a Masters Degree in Education from CSU. Linda and her family moved to Sarasota from Northern California in 1993 and she and her husband, Bob, have 2 daughters who are RHS graduates.

Dr. Vidisha Patel

Dr. Patel has an MBA in finance & international business from Columbia University.  She has worked on Wall Street & overseas in banking.  She received her doctorate in counseling psychology and is in private practice working with children and families in the areas of behavioral issues, parenting, stress, anxiety and gifted children.  She is currently on the Pineview School board of directors (former treasurer & VP), on the Sarasota County Medical Society Alliance (former treasurer) and a director of SENG (Supportive Emotional Needs of Gifted) national organization.  Vidisha has been working with teen mothers and their babies at Cyesis for the past 13 years.  She hopes to be "a voice" for the Cyesis families.

William Robertson - President

Bill Robertson heads up the Personal Injury Group at the law firm of Kirk-Pinkerton, P.A.    Bill was born and raised in Sarasota and is a 1977 graduate of RHS.  He and his wife Linda have 4 children – Elisha, who graduated in 2007 from RHS, Sarah, a 2009 graduate, Wesley in the class of 2012 and Michael will join the Riverview High School family as a freshman in 2010.   Bill joined the RHS Foundation in 2008 and was elected President in 2010.

Brad A. Smith

Brad is a financial advisor with AXA Advisors.  He has children currently at Brookside but will be in the IB program at RHS.  As a former teacher he has found a need to continually give back to the schools by being involved at all levels of his children's education.  Brad is a member of the Southside Foundation as well as the "F.B.I" (Fathers Being Involved) at Southside.

Cassie Vassallo

Cassie is a RHS graduate, class of 1988.  She played for the Rams tennis team and was a highland dancer.  Cassie graduated from USF, married her childhood sweetheart (current board member Tom Vassallo) and they have 3 boys (all of which will attend RHS).  She has been active with the Southside PTA, Incarnation PTSO and Cotillion Sarasota.  She joined the RHS Foundation because of her love for Riverview High School and wanting to help the Foundation's continued success with providing the teachers and students at RHS with grants & scholarships.

Thomas Vassallo, II

Tom joined the Foundation in 2008.  He works in the financial services sector at AXA Advisors.  He is a RHS graduate, class of 1987.  He and his wife, Cassie, currently have children at Southside who will ultimately attend Riverview.   Tom also volunteers at the Ringling Redskins Football league.

Cyndi Forgeur - Foundation Coordinator

Cyndi joined the Foundation in 2003 as Coordinator.  She is a graduate of RHS, class of 1974.  Cyndi worked in the securities business for 27 years before starting her bookkeeping and professional organizing business in 2003.
